District of Ljubljana – Center includes the following neighborhoods and streets:

Ajdovščina, Gradišče, Stara Ljubljana, Prule, Poljane, Nova Poljane, Tabor, Ledina and Vodmat. Ljubljana – The city center stretches from Tivoli park to the the green Golovec hill and from the main railway station to Špica between the Grubar Channel and the river of Ljubljanica.

In the center you will find the old town square under the Ljubljana Castle, the University of Ljubljana building with many of its faculties, other cultural and state institutions, as well as other city and financial institutions. The main bus and train station are just a few minutes away as well. Despite the compact residential areas in the city, Ljubljana – Center district has a large number of maintained green areas, children’s playgrounds and parks at your disposal.

In recent years, the old town center has also been renovated, as well as some town squares and the Ljubljanica riverbanks. The noise and the city air pollution problems we’re solved by restricting the access of motor vehicles, but many public areas intended for pedestrians and cyclists were also added.
